Trends in mergers & acquisitions

Zagreb, December 2007. Dr. Vladimir Preveden, Managing Partner and Director of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants' Zagreb office, held a presentation on the topic of "Trends in mergers & acquisitions". This was part of a first-ever SEE M&A conference.

Dr. Vladimir Preveden's presentation discussed European trends in M&A and the new wave of growth that Europe is currently experiencing. Three main drivers are pushing this new growth and are also mentioned in the accompanying study.

While pan-European M&A volumes in 2007 came close to matching the 2000 all-time high, M&A activities in SEE are only growing slowly.

The M&A forecast for SEE indicates that there will be some interesting transactions in 2008, but that the big M&A wave will commence only in the medium term.
