Monika Meglić

Born in Zagreb, 1987.

After finishing School of Applied Art and Design in 2005, Monika went to Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb where 2010 she obtained her Master Degree in painting under the guidance of Profesor Duje Jurić. She had several group exhibitions in the last seven years.

Artist's Statement:

My works concentrate on my micro cosmos, which does not tell everything about itself; they tell a story which concerns me, and for me it is too intimate that I could just go and share it with the viewers. I want to force the viewer to participate in this story by forming it independently with their own imagination (thinking) and to experience it as a private, intimate experience... and from the reaction that occurs within himself I do not expect (sometimes forced) verbal response; it is sufficient by itself.
